SOULFOOD will test innovative digital tools to promote a more sustainable production in the agri-food sector and a more efficient connection between its producers and social initiatives of food distribution. SOULFOOD will test how to prevent food loss and waste at primary production by reusing it for its distribution to vulnerable groups.
By promoting a more sustainable, inclusive, and connected agri-food value chain the project contributes to the goal of reducing food waste by 50% by 2030, while addressing the challenge of lack of access to healthy and equilibrated meals of the most vulnerable population. Collaboration between agri-food actors and social initiatives of food distribution, both from non-profit organizations and local governments will be promoted in all the project’s activities, together with dissemination and awareness raising events to the transfer the results to other similar agents in other European and non-European countries.
