Commercial Analytical Research Organisations Transnational Strategy

Commercial Analytical Research Organisations (CAROs) – private or public-private bodies, helping enterprises to benefit from knowledge and potential of scientists and research facilities in the Baltic Sea Region. CAROs, as intermediary bodies between industry and academia, provide enterprises with much quicker yet complete assistance in analytical research in areas like New Materials, NanoTech and Life Sciences and thus significantly expedite innovation.

The objective of the project – to encourage the development and cooperation of commercial analytical research organizations that will help companies to use the knowledge and potential of scientists and research institutions in the Baltic Sea Region.

Although a few CAROs already exist in Europe, partners see a high potential for additional enterprises of this type. CAROTS wants to improve conditions for this type of industrial research start-ups along with greater visibility, better knowledge transfer and by attracting entrepreneurs and venture capitalists for support.
