EdTech4BY

Development of the EdTech ecosystem for Belarusians

The EdTech4BY project, part of the EU-funded SALT II program implemented by Lithuania’s CPVA, aims to enhance access to quality distance education for Belarusians amidst political repression. The project addresses the EU objective to increase lifelong learning opportunities and strengthen democratic resilience. It targets 25 early-stage Belarusian edtech startups and 25 educators, supporting them through structured incubation programs to develop innovative educational products, including at least 5 edtech tools and 15 online courses. A secure, multi-tenant e-learning platform, called the Gateway to e-learning, will host these resources, offering both autonomous and live learning options.

The project also seeks to create a collaborative network of 15 Belarusian online service providers and 15 educators, fostering interdisciplinary cooperation and efficient content development. An incubation designer will oversee a curriculum including workshops, training, and networking events. Participants will be selected through a competitive process and rewarded with grants based on performance, with startups receiving up to €30,000 and educators up to €5,000. Key performance indicators will track progress, and Pitch Days will showcase results. The project promotes sustainability by developing a business model to ensure the platform’s long-term viability. Overall, EdTech4BY supports EU values by empowering Belarusian civil society through education and innovation.
