Digital HER Kenya

Developing digital entrepreneurship competences for young women in Kenya

DigitalHER Kenya will promote the labour market participation, competitiveness and economic independence of young Kenyan women by strengthening their digital entrepreneurship capacities and skills. To achieve this goal, the project will develop and implement a digital entrepreneurship training programme and consolidate the knowledge gained by the target group through a mentoring programme and a hackathon, an activity focused on solving real market challenges.

The project will help 30 young Kenyan women to acquire and strengthen their digital entrepreneurship knowledge and skills, and to establish contacts with businesses, which will help them to become more active in the labour market (both in terms of setting up their own digital businesses and in terms of their employment). The aim is that at the end of the project, the target group will feel more empowered (with better skills and knowledge) to secure a better economic position (i.e. to strengthen their economic independence) and to be more competitive in the digital economy labour market.

DigitalHER Kenya will contribute to bridging the gender gap in digital entrepreneurship by facilitating young women’s access to relevant knowledge, competencies and skills, and to seize the opportunities offered by digital transformation.
